Viewing and Managing Linked Board Cards Under a Project in Ontraccr

🗂️💬 Viewing and Managing Linked Board Cards Under a Project in Ontraccr Overview

Every project in Ontraccr can have Board Cards linked to it — connecting your site activities, procurement tasks, communications, and more directly to the project profile.

The Cards tab inside each project shows a full list of these linked cards for easy navigation and management!

🎯 Why Link Board Cards to Projects?

  • Centralize communication tied to the project.
  • Quickly jump between project and task views.
  • See all active tasks for a project across different boards (Service, Procurement, HR, etc.).
  • Shortcut navigation to important workflows without leaving the project.

🛠️ How the Cards Tab Works

📄 What You See

Inside the Cards tab:

  • Sections by Board Name (e.g., Project Tracker, Procurement, Service Tracker).
  • Under each section:
    • List of all cards linked to the project.
    • Card Titles
    • Board Name association
    • Status (e.g., In Progress, Completed)

✅ Everything is neatly organized by board — no clutter!

🛠️ Actions Available

  • Click any Card:
    • Opens the full Board Card details.
    • You can view/edit (based on your permissions) immediately.
  • Navigate Back to Project:
    • Inside the Board Card, click the Project Link.
    • Instantly return to the Project profile view.

✅ Seamless two-way linking between projects and tasks!

🧩 How Board Cards Get Linked to Projects

When creating or editing a board card:

  1. Fill out the Linked Item field.
  2. Choose Project and select the correct project.
  3. Save.

✅ The card now appears under the linked project's Cards tab automatically!

🧠 Tips & Edge Cases

One Card, One Project:

A Board Card can be linked to only one project at a time.

Cross-Board Visibility:

Even if tasks span multiple boards (Procurement, Communication, Service), they all consolidate here by project.

Use Cards Strategically:

Link service calls, purchase orders, site issues, RFI tracking, or communication threads — anything that needs project context!

If No Cards Linked:

The Cards tab will simply show no data until cards are linked manually or automatically via board automations.

Example Scenario

You’re managing a high-rise construction project:

  • Service Board tracks maintenance tickets.
  • Procurement Board tracks material purchase tasks.
  • Communication Board tracks client meeting notes.

All related tasks/cards show up in the Project's Cards tab, giving you one place to review everything happening across different teams!

🚀 Summary

The Cards tab connects your boards and projects seamlessly, ensuring that no matter where a task lives, it’s always tied to the project work it impacts.
