Red Dot Indicator: Forms Pending Your Approval
📘 Red Dot Indicator: Forms Pending Your Approval Overview
In Ontraccr, a red dot appears beside form entries in the Master Form Log (and other views) to indicate that you are responsible for reviewing and approving that form. This is a personalized visual alert, helping approvers identify their pending actions quickly without navigating to the Approve tab.
🔴 What the Red Dot Means
- Appears only next to forms that:
- Are pending approval
- Have you assigned as the approver
- The red dot is shown beside the form’s status
🎯 Use Case
- You’re browsing the Master Form Log and want to see at a glance which forms need your approval
- The red dot alerts you without requiring you to switch to the Approve page
🧭 Where It Appears
- Master Form Log
- Project, Customer, Equipment, or Vendor-specific logs (if the form is assigned to you)
- Only visible to the person responsible for the approval step
🔐 Who Sees It?
Only the user currently logged in sees red dots for the forms they are assigned to approve. Other users won’t see red dots for approvals they’re not responsible for.
🔧 What To Do When You See a Red Dot
- Click the form row to open the full form viewer
- Review the form’s content and triggered items
- Approve, Reject, or Edit (if allowed) as needed
📝 Notes
- If your role includes approving multiple forms, the red dot helps quickly locate your required actions in any form log
- The red dot does not appear for assignments, drafts, or forms you’re editing—only for approval responsibilities
