- Click Add
- Enter a name for the type.
- Click Save.
🧱 Use Case: Why Use Project Types?
Project Types allow you to tailor Ontraccr to multiple construction workflows:
Type | Use Case Example |
---|---|
Commercial TI | Uses custom board templates for RFIs and a specific cost code template. |
Service Work | Has fewer tabs, no contract tab, and different task templates. |
Maintenance | Applies a recurring schedule template and includes a specialized inspection form. |
✅ Tips and Edge Cases
- Required for Tab Customization: Tabs are controlled per project type—so define types first before editing tab visibility.
- Consistency: Standardize type names to avoid confusion across teams.
- Can’t Rename Defaults: The default “Project” type can be edited but not removed—create new types as needed.
