Schedule via “More” Page: Create, Filter, and Manage Shifts on Mobile

📆 Schedule via “More” Page: Create, Filter, and Manage Shifts on Mobile

🧭 Introduction

The Ontraccr mobile app lets users with the right permissions fully manage their team’s schedule — including viewing shifts, filtering by users or status, and creating brand new shifts — all directly from the More > Schedule view.

This article walks through how to navigate the schedule calendar, toggle views, and use every shift creation option from your phone.

📍 Where to Access the Schedule

  1. Tap the “More” button in the bottom nav bar
  2. Select “Schedule”

You’ll be taken to the mobile calendar where shifts are grouped by day (default) or week.

🗓️ Navigating the Calendar

  • Tap the date at the top (e.g., “Monday, April 14”) to jump to another day
  • Use the three-bar menu (☰) to toggle views:
    • Day view (portrait)
    • Week view (landscape)
  • Tap the calendar icon again to pick a different week or day

🔍 Filter Shifts

Tap the filter icon (top-right) to filter by:

Filter TypeDescription
UserView shifts for a specific person
Shift TypeShow only published or draft shifts

If no shifts appear after filtering, it may be due to role-based visibility or a mismatch in criteria.

➕ Creating a New Shift

Users with scheduling permissions will see a plus icon (+) in the top-right.

Tap it to begin building a shift with:

🔹 Required Fields:

  • Title (e.g., “AM Site Prep – North Tower”)
  • Date
  • Division (if applicable in your account)

🔸 Optional Fields:

  • Description
  • Start & End Times (or set to All Day)
  • Repeat Options:
    • Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Annually, Every Weekday
    • Set an end date for repeating shifts
  • Project and Cost Code
  • Category (for unassigned shift grouping — new feature)
  • Team or Users to assign
  • Expected User Groups:
    • Filter by Label or Role
    • Set required number of users for the shift

📝 Attachments

  • Add files via:
    • 📎 File picker (Ontraccr file system)
    • 📷 Camera (take new photo)
    • ⬆️ Upload (from phone)

🔒 Lock Clock-In Details

Toggle Lock Clock-In if you want to enforce the assigned cost code and project — workers won’t be able to change these when clocking into this shift.

📤 Draft vs Publish

When you're done:

  • Tap “Submit” to publish the shift immediately
  • Tap “Draft” to save the shift without publishing

Visual Indicator:

  • Draft shifts appear transparent in the calendar
  • Published shifts are fully opaque

This makes it easy to tell which shifts are finalized vs pending.

Outcome

With the Schedule view via the “More” menu, field managers can:

  • Quickly navigate and filter team shifts by day, week, or user
  • Create repeatable, role-specific shifts directly from mobile
  • Enforce clock-in parameters and reduce entry errors
  • Maintain visibility over published vs draft shift status
  • Schedule smarter and faster — on the goType your content here.
