Showing List Index Position in Ontraccr Boards
🧮 Showing List Index Position in Ontraccr Boards
Overview
In List View, you can enable index numbers to show the position of each card in its status column. This helps with ordering, prioritizing, and tracking cards in workflows where sequence matters — such as queues, ranking systems, or task checklists.
🎯 Why Use Index Positioning?
Showing list index positions is helpful when:
- You want to know the exact order of cards within a status
- You need a ranked workflow (e.g., first-in-first-out, priority queues)
- You want a quick visual reference in List View
- You’re reviewing task progress or service queues by sequence
🧩 How to Enable List Index Positioning
- Open your board and click the ⚙️ Settings icon.
- In the Details tab, check the box for “Show List Index Position.”
- Click Submit.
✅ Cards in List View will now display an index number based on their order in each column.
📋 Where Index Numbers Appear
- Visible only in List View
- Displayed to the left or top of each card, showing position in the current column
- Automatically updates as cards are reordered or moved
✅ Example Use Cases

---|---|
