📘 What is the Equipment Page?
The Equipment Page in Ontraccr allows your company to create, manage, and track both internal and external equipment. It acts as a centralized database for all equipment-related information, whether it's:
- Internal equipment owned by your company, or
 - External equipment, such as customer-owned assets you're responsible for maintaining.
 
You can use this page to track inspections, maintenance visits, usage logs, assignments to users or projects, and much more.
📍How to Access the Equipment Page
To navigate to the Equipment Page:
- From the main menu on the left-hand side of your Ontraccr dashboard, click on “Equipment.”
 - You’ll arrive at the Equipment Page, where you’ll see all equipment listed by default.
 
🔍 Key Interface Elements
🔎 Search Bar
- Located prominently on the page.
 - Allows you to search by equipment name.
 - Example: Typing 
E61will return equipment with that in its name. 
➕ Add Equipment Button
- Click the “+ Add” button to open the equipment creation slider.
 - Use this to create new equipment records manually (more on this in the next article).
 
📊 Display Modes
You can toggle between two views:
📇 Card View (Default)
- Displays equipment in individual tiles with key visual indicators.
 
📋 List View
- Provides a denser, table-style layout ideal for managing large inventories.
 
To toggle:
- Click the Card/List view toggle at the top of the page.
 
🎛️ Filtering Options
Click the Filter icon to open the filtering menu. You can filter by:
- Status (e.g., Active, Inactive, Maintenance)
 - Availability (Checked in/out)
 - Labels
 - Types (e.g., Bulldozers, Pickups, Customer Equipment)
 - Projects (Filter to see only equipment assigned to a specific project)
 
Example Use Case:
To view only active excavators assigned to the Cadence project, apply the appropriate filters under Status, Type, and Project.
🔄 Sorting Options
In List View, you can sort equipment alphabetically by:
- Name (Ascending or Descending)
 
🔍 Quick Project Check-In
From the Equipment Page:
- Click the gray box (not the equipment card itself) for an equipment profile that has a timer box.
 - Use this to check in the equipment to a project or location:
- Toggle between project and location modes.
 - Type in or select the destination.
 - Click Check In.
 
 
Visual Indicators:
- Gray box = Inactive
 - Black box with running timer = Equipment is currently checked in
 
Click the black box to:
- Check out the equipment
 - Or switch it to another job
