Sending Email on Card Update in Ontraccr Boards

🔔 Sending Email on Card Update in Ontraccr Boards

Overview

In addition to status change alerts, Ontraccr also lets you automatically send emails when a card is updated. This keeps assigned users informed of any changes made to the card’s content — even if the card hasn’t moved stages.

🎯 Why Use This?

Use this feature to:

  • Keep users informed of new information or edits added to their cards
  • Maintain visibility when others are collaborating or making changes
  • Prevent miscommunication in high-urgency workflows
  • Ensure updates like file uploads, field edits, or note changes don’t go unnoticed

🧩 How to Enable Email Notifications on Card Update

  1. Open the board and click the ⚙️ Settings icon.
  2. Navigate to the Details tab.
  3. Check the box labeled “Send Email on Card Update.”
  4. Click Submit.

✅ Assigned users will now receive email alerts when any field or content on a card is changed.

📋 What Triggers an Update Email?

  • Changes to card fields (e.g., client name, quote amount, description)
  • File uploads or removals
  • Comments or notes added (if stored in fields)
  • Edits by any user with permission

📨 Only the currently assigned users on the card will receive the alert.
