Viewing and Navigating Board Search Results

Viewing and Navigating Board Search Results

📌 Summary

After submitting a board-based query in Ontraccr’s Advanced Search, the system returns a detailed, board-specific breakdown of results. This article explains how to navigate the results, explore cards, and access deeper information directly from the search interface.

🧭 Results Layout: Boards & Stages

When your board query completes, the results are grouped by board and stage.

🔹 At the Top Level:

  • Each board included in your query appears as its own section.
  • You’ll see how many matching cards exist per board.
    • Example:
      • PMA Dispatch → 20 matches
      • PMA Archive → 1 match

🔹 Within Each Board:

  • Expand the board using the chevron (▸) icon.
  • Results are further grouped by stage/column within the board.
  • You can see the number of cards in each stage.

📋 Visible Card Data

Within each stage, the following is displayed for each matching card:

  • Status (e.g. unassigned, in progress)
  • Custom fields (based on card design)
  • Card number
  • Linked users or details (if part of design)
  • How long the card has been in that status

Example fields shown in the session:

Patrol

PMA Type

Old Date Due

Work Instructions

(Exact fields vary by card template)

✏️ Interacting With Cards

Each card in the search results offers the following actions:

🔹 Edit the Card

  • Click the Edit icon to open the card in editable mode.
  • You can update fields directly from the search screen.

🔹 View the Card

  • Click the Card number to open the card in read-only view mode.
  • This mimics how the card appears on the actual board.

🔄 This gives you full access to card data without navigating back to the board view.
