Customizing Project Tabs in Ontraccr

📄 Customizing Project Tabs in Ontraccr

Ontraccr allows you to tailor the tabs visible in each project profile to match your workflows and terminology. This feature ensures that your teams only see the information and sections relevant to the type of project they’re working on.

🧭 Where to Access Tab Customization

  1. Go to Settings in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click on Customization.
  3. Select the Tabs option at the top of the customization list.

🎛 What You Can Customize

  • Tabs Per Project Type: You can enable or disable specific tabs (e.g., Schedule, Files, Contract, etc.) for each project type you’ve defined in your system.
  • Per-Type Behavior: Each project type (like Residential Build, Commercial Install, etc.) can have a different set of visible tabs.

🛠️ How to Customize Tabs

  1. From the Tabs customization page, locate the project type you want to modify.
  2. Use the toggle switches or checkboxes beside each tab to enable or disable it for that project type.
  3. Your changes are saved automatically or by clicking Save (if prompted).

💡 Real-World Example

If your “Design-Build” project type doesn’t use contracts, simply uncheck the “Contract” tab for that project type. This makes the project view cleaner and more relevant for users.

Tips and Edge Cases

  • New Project Types will inherit a default tab configuration—don’t forget to review and adjust them after adding a new type.
  • Project Type Dependency: Tabs are customized per type. If you're not seeing a tab where expected, double-check the type of the project.
  • Team Training: Make sure project managers know which tabs are expected for each type to avoid confusion during project setup.
