📘 Managing Drafts and Editing States in the Assigned Tab Overview
Ontraccr distinguishes between three types of tasks shown in your Assigned tab:
- Assigned – A form has been assigned to you via a workflow.
- Draft – You started filling out a form manually and saved it (or it was autosaved).
- Editing – You’ve been assigned to modify an existing form via a workflow block.
Each state determines how you interact with the form and what options are available for submission, continuation, or clearing.
🧭 Where to See Form State
- Go to:
Documents→Forms→Assigned - Check the State column to identify the form’s category:

✍️ Working with Draft Forms
What Is a Draft?
A Draft is any form you manually opened and either:
- Clicked “Save as Draft”
- Allowed Ontraccr to autosave your progress
How to Resume a Draft
- Click the draft form row
- Continue entering data
- Click Submit to finalize
How to Clear a Draft
If you don’t intend to complete a draft:
- Open the draft form
- Click Clear Draft (bottom-left, beside Preview)
- Confirm you want to:
- Permanently delete autosaved content
- Disable autosave for this instance
- Click Cancel
- When asked to save a draft again, choose No
🛠 Editing Assigned Forms
What Does “Editing” Mean?
If your workflow contains an Edit block, the system may assign you a form to revise. In this case:
- The form will show
Editingunder State - You are responsible for reviewing and updating it
- Once changes are complete, click Submit to finalize your edit
🚫 What You Cannot Do
- You cannot clear or dismiss forms marked as
AssignedorEditingfrom your tab manually. - You must:
- Submit the form, or
- Ask an administrator to cancel the workflow behind it
🧠 Best Practices
- Use Clear Draft if you’re no longer completing a form
- Always review
Editingtasks carefully—they often impact downstream workflows - Check the Assigned tab regularly; the badge count indicates pending actions
