The Equipment Page in Ontraccr supports two viewing modes—Card View and List View—to help users manage and navigate their equipment database more efficiently. Each mode offers distinct advantages depending on your use case.
This article outlines how to toggle between views, when to use each, and what functionality is retained in both.
🧾 View Modes Explained
📇 Card View (Default)
- Displays equipment as visual tiles, each showing:
- Name
- Type
- Status
- Assigned User (if applicable)
- QR code icon
- Check-in/out box (gray or black)
- Ideal for:
- Visual scanning of smaller inventories
- Seeing status at a glance
- Accessing individual equipment with fewer clicks
📋 List View
- Displays equipment in a table format
- Each row contains:
- Equipment name and core details
- Faster scroll-through of multiple items
- Ideal for:
- Managing large inventories
- Sorting or filtering by multiple columns
- Bulk review of many records
🔁 How to Switch Between Views
- Go to the Equipment Page
- Locate the view toggle icon (typically near the top right)
- Click to switch between:
- Card View
- List View
⚙️ What Functionality Is Retained in Both Views?
Regardless of which view you select, you can:
- Click on a piece of equipment to open its profile
- Edit or archive the equipment
- View check-in/check-out indicators (via the colored box)
- Apply filters (e.g., type, status, project, labels)
- Launch mapped forms
- Sort (in List View only)
🔼 Sorting (List View Only)
In List View, you gain access to sorting options not available in Card View.
You can sort by:
- Name (Ascending or Descending)
📌 Sorting is especially helpful when managing long lists of equipment alphabetically.
