File Storage System Overview & Navigation

📁 File Storage System Overview & Navigation

Ontraccr's file storage system gives you a central place to upload, organize, and access files — whether they’re tied to projects, forms, or general documentation.

📍 How to Access the File System

To open the file system:

  1. Go to the Documents section in the left-hand sidebar
  2. Click on Files
  3. This brings you to the full file storage interface

🗂 Default Folder Structure

Ontraccr automatically sets up a few folders for you to get started.

📎 Attachments Folder

  • This folder stores all file attachments submitted through forms
  • Works automatically — no setup needed
  • You’ll see columns for:
    • File name
    • File type (PDF, image, etc.)
    • Last updated
    • File size
    • Permissions

🏢 Main Folder (by Division)

  • A folder tied to your current division is automatically created
  • If you have multiple divisions, each one gets its own folder
  • Inside each main folder, you'll find:
    • An Attachments folder (same as above)
    • A Projects folder (we’ll cover that next)

📂 Navigating Between Folders

  • Click on a folder to open it and view its contents
  • You can create new folders or upload files into any location
  • Project folders are also visible from the Projects page → Files tab
    • Both paths lead to the exact same place — just filtered differently

💡 Tip: Whether you’re working from the Files section or inside a project, you’re always interacting with the same files.

🧾 Summary

  • Access all files via Documents → Files
  • Default folders are auto-created for Attachments and Divisions
  • Each division has its own main folder, plus subfolders for projects and more
  • Folder contents are consistent whether viewed from the Files section or inside a project
