🧭 Introduction

The Materials page in the Ontraccr mobile app gives mobile users the ability to view and manage the materials that are tracked across projects. While many materials-related workflows are driven from the web app, the mobile version enables teams to stay informed and contribute field-level updates if permissions allow.

This guide outlines the key actions available from the Materials section on mobile.


📍 Where to Access Materials

  1. Tap “More” in the bottom nav bar
  2. Tap “Materials”

🛑 Note: Only users with proper role permissions will see this tab.


🔍 What You Can Do

The mobile materials page is designed to support read access, with limited edit capabilities depending on your role. From here, you can:

  • View a list of all materials set up in the company account
  • Tap into a material to review:
    • Name
    • Unit of measure
    • Cost per unit
    • Division or category
    • Material code (if applicable)

🔐 Permissions Overview

➕ Adding a New Material

To create a new material:

  1. Tap the plus icon in the top-right.
  2. Fill in the required and optional fields.

Required Fields:

  • Name
  • Part Number (can be “N/A” if unknown)
  • Division
  • Description

Optional Fields:

  • Supplier
  • Material Cost, Markup, and Billing Price
  • Labor Cost, Markup, and Labor Billing Price
  • Unit of Measure
    • Choose from existing options or create a custom unit.
  • Cost Code
    • Select from the global cost code list.

📊 Inventory Tracking (Optional)

You can configure inventory tracking for any material:

  • Total Quantity
  • Allocated Quantity
  • Available Quantity (calculated automatically)
  • Threshold
    • Triggers a low-stock alert when quantity drops below this value.
  • Location Breakdown
    • Assign quantities to named storage locations.

✅ Save and Sync

Once all information is entered:

  • Tap Save in the top-right.
  • The material is added to your company's shared materials database and available for immediate use.

✅ Use Cases

  • Foremen or project leads can reference material costs in real-time
  • Workers can verify material names or codes when filling out forms
  • Admins or project managers can use the info to validate field entries

Outcome

The Materials feature on mobile allows teams to:

  • View and verify company-wide material info
  • Reference unit costs for documentation or invoicing
  • Reduce errors in form entries tied to materials
