# Section Duplication: Repeatable Sections for Photos, Inspections, and More

## 📄 Section Duplication: Repeatable Form Sections for Photos, Inspections, and More  
 

Ontraccr’s **Section Duplication** feature allows users to create **repeating blocks** of questions within a form. This is ideal for capturing multiple items like photos, observations, inspections, or issue reports—without needing to predict how many entries someone might need.

## 🔁 What is Section Duplication?

When duplication is enabled for a section:

-   The form filler sees a **“Duplicate Section”** button
-   Clicking it **copies the entire section**, including all fields
-   They can add as many duplicates as needed

## 🛠 How to Enable Section Duplication

1.  Go to **Step 2: Fields**
2.  Click the **gear icon ⚙️** next to the section name
3.  Check the box: `**Enable Section Duplication**`
4.  Save your changes

You’ll see a visual indicator confirming that duplication is enabled for that section.

## 📥 What Happens on the Form?

When filling out the form:

-   A **“Duplicate Section”** icon appears at the bottom of that section
-   Clicking it adds a copy of the section and its fields right below
-   The user can then repeat the process as many times as needed

## 📌 Limitations to Be Aware Of

| 🔸 Section Name is repeated | Duplicates have the **same title** (e.g. “Photo Upload”) |
| 🔸 Fields become optional | All fields inside the duplicated section are automatically set to **optional** |
| 🔸 Custom PDFs not supported | You must use Ontraccr’s **standard PDF template** when this feature is enabled |

> ✅ Use internal fields like "Label this photo" or "Inspection Area" to differentiate duplicates.

## 💡 Tips for Designing Duplicate Sections

-   Use **clear instructions** in the section title (e.g., “Add a photo and description. Duplicate this section for each new photo.”)
