# Project Timeline Report

## **🗓️ Project Timeline Report**

The **Project Timeline Report** in Ontraccr provides a visual, calendar-style overview of project durations based on their **start and end dates**. It functions like a **lightweight Gantt chart**, helping teams visualize how their projects line up over time.

## **📍 Accessing the Report**

1. Open the **Reports** section via the sidebar.
2. Click **Reports** again to access the main reporting hub.
3. Select **Project Timeline** from the list of standard templates.

## **🧭 What This Report Displays**

This report visualizes the **start and end dates** of each project, laid out on a timeline. Each project appears as a horizontal bar across the date range, indicating its planned duration.

## **🔑 Prerequisite: Start & End Dates Required**

To see a project on this report, the following fields **must be filled out within the Project’s Budget page by enabling the Add Dates/Timelines? option**:

- **Start Date**
- **End Date**

These fields must be set under each project's **Budget** page.

⚠️ If start and end dates are not filled in, the project will not appear in this report.

## **🛠️ Functionality**

- **Select Projects**: Choose specific jobs to display, or show all
- **Scroll Timeline**: Horizontally scroll through dates to view all project bars
- **Zoom or Expand**: Use the full-screen toggle to expand the visible chart area

This view is ideal for high-level planning, resource alignment, and conflict identification across projects.

## **🧠 Common Use Cases**

- **Operations teams** reviewing how concurrent jobs align
- **Project managers** identifying scheduling overlaps or gaps
- **Executives** needing a visual summary of all active timelines

* * *

## **📁 Export & Save Options**

- **Save View**: After applying project filters, save the view for reuse
- **Export Options**: Not explicitly mentioned in the transcript — leave out unless confirmed in future updates

## **📌 Tips**

- Always verify that **project timelines are updated in the Budget tab** to maintain accurate visuals here.
- Use in tandem with the **Project Status Report** for a full picture of timeline + labor health.
