# Managing Drafts and Editing States in the Assigned Tab

## **📘 Managing Drafts and Editing States in the Assigned Tab Overview**

Ontraccr distinguishes between three types of tasks shown in your **Assigned** tab:

1. **Assigned** – A form has been assigned to you via a workflow.
2. **Draft** – You started filling out a form manually and saved it (or it was autosaved).
3. **Editing** – You’ve been assigned to modify an existing form via a workflow block.

Each state determines how you interact with the form and what options are available for submission, continuation, or clearing.

## 🧭 **Where to See Form State**

- Go to: `Documents` → `Forms` → `Assigned`
- Check the **State** column to identify the form’s category:
    - `Assigned`
    - `Draft`
    - `Editing`

## ✍️ **Working with Draft Forms**

### What Is a Draft?

A **Draft** is any form you manually opened and either:

- Clicked “Save as Draft”
- Allowed Ontraccr to autosave your progress

### How to Resume a Draft

1. Click the draft form row
2. Continue entering data
3. Click **Submit** to finalize

### How to Clear a Draft

If you don’t intend to complete a draft:

1. Open the draft form
2. Click **Clear Draft** (bottom-left, beside Preview)
3. Confirm you want to:
    - **Permanently delete autosaved content**
    - **Disable autosave for this instance**
4. Click **Cancel**
5. When asked to save a draft again, choose **No**

## 🛠 **Editing Assigned Forms**

### What Does “Editing” Mean?

If your workflow contains an **Edit block**, the system may assign you a form to **revise**. In this case:

- The form will show `Editing` under State
- You are responsible for reviewing and updating it
- Once changes are complete, click **Submit** to finalize your edit

## 🚫 **What You Cannot Do**

- You **cannot clear or dismiss** forms marked as `Assigned` or `Editing` from your tab manually.
- You must:
    - **Submit** the form, or
    - Ask an administrator to **cancel the workflow** behind it

## 🧠 **Best Practices**

- Use **Clear Draft** if you’re no longer completing a form
- Always review `Editing` tasks carefully—they often impact downstream workflows
- Check the Assigned tab regularly; the badge count indicates pending actions
