## 🧠 **Use Case Example**

## 🔄 **Changing User Role (Position)**

You can change the user's **role** (called “Position”) at any time:

- Edit the user profile
- Select a new role under the **Position** field
- Submit the form

🧩 Reminder: Role determines what the user can see or do.

Make sure the new role has appropriate permissions configured under **Settings > Roles and Permissions**.

## 🔄 **Editing Wage and Visibility**

- The **Hourly Wage** field is editable by admins or managers with the **Manage User Wage** permission.
- **Viewing this field** requires the **View User Wage** permission.
- If these permissions aren’t enabled, the wage section won’t appear in the edit form.

## 🧽 **Best Practices**

| Task | Recommendation |
| --- | --- |
| Resetting credentials | Always communicate the new password securely |
| Changing roles | Double-check the impact on their access and restrictions |
| Editing wage | Review job costing reports to confirm updates reflect correctly |
| Adding labels or projects | Combine with role-based restrictions to control clock-in access |
