# Advanced Viewer Commenting & Comment Management

## **💬 Advanced Viewer Commenting & Comment Management**  
 

The **Advanced File Viewer** in Ontraccr includes a full-featured **commenting system** designed for collaborative markup. This lets your team leave feedback, ask questions, or flag items directly on documents like construction drawings or estimates.

## **🗣 Adding Comments**

To add a comment:

1.  Open a file in the **Advanced Viewer**
2.  Switch from **View Mode** to **Annotate Mode**
3.  Select the **Note** tool
4.  Click and drag to place a comment box
5.  Type your comment and click **Save**

💡 Use comments to flag outdated details, ask for clarification, or provide instructions.

## **🔁 Replying to Comments**

Each comment can have replies — allowing threaded discussions within the document.

You can:

-   Reply to a comment directly
-   Attach files or images to your reply (if needed)

## **📌 Setting Comment Status**

You can assign a status to each comment to track its progress. Available statuses include:

-   ✅ Accepted
-   ❌ Rejected
-   🚫 Cancelled
-   ✔️ Completed
-   ⬜ None
-   📍 Unmarked

📌 Use statuses to track whether a comment has been reviewed or resolved.

## **⚙ Managing Comments**

Each comment also includes:

-   **Edit** option: Update the content of your comment
-   **Delete** option: Remove the comment entirely
-   **Save changes** after editing

## **🔍 Filtering & Searching Comments**

When viewing comments, you can:

-   **Filter by**:
    -   Author
    -   Color
    -   Type
    -   Status (e.g., show only unresolved comments)
-   **Search** by keywords across all comments

💡 This makes it easy to find all unresolved issues on a drawing or spec document.

Let’s say your estimators are reviewing electrical drawings:

-   You can use the **Note** tool to flag changes needed
